One day in Lake Charles, Louisiana at McNeese University, four individuals wanted to impact a new generation. Cicely Moore (Kavalier), Kendra Randall (Kasanova), Veronica Pikes (Kasaba), and Marquita Williams (2 Klean) came together to form an organization that would allow lesbian women to pledge and interact with other women of their lifestyle and feel comfortable doing so. As part of the recruitment process, they looked for women with high standards, professionalism, leadership, and integrity. Thus, Gamma Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc was founded on June 30, 2006, in Baton Rouge Louisiana, and was later incorporated on March 19, 2008.
